Legal Question in Business Law in California
Never recieved my last paycheck
I quit my job. i gave my boss 1 weeks
notice that i wouldnt be working with
them anymore. I usually recieve my pay
checks on a weekly basis. I turned in my
last clock in sheet and have been
waiting for my pay checks. I've
contacted my boss many times through
email but i have not recieved anything
back. How can i get my money? can i
sue them for not compensating me for
the last week that i worked?

In cases like this, usually the best way to proceed is to file a claim with the local Labor Board. Intentional failure to pay wages can result in a penalty equivalent a a full 30 days of additional pay for you.

You can sue, but you shouldn't have to; there is a much easier administrative remedy available through a complaint to the State of California, Industrial Relations Department, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. You didn't give a ZIP Code so I can't give you a local phone number, but you can find them in the Government section of a phone directory.
