What is required to apply & become a non-profit organization & what are you allowed to use funds for in a non-profit organization

There are numerous steps that need to be satisfied in order to become a non-profit corporation. For example, you need to draft Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws and corporate Minutes, and obtain federal and state tax exempt status, etc. The process is quite long.
