Reserved Internet domain name released by registrar and registerd by other due t
A few months ago I wanted to register a domain name at a US
based registrar. I would pay by wire transfer and asked the registrar to reserve the domain name for me till payment was received, which he did. The transfer was from Europe to the registrars US bank account and by previous experience (
had registered other domain names at the same registar before) took about 5-7 days. There was a delay in the wire and after 10 days I sent several e-mails to the registrar asking if the wire had been received. After about 25 days and the wire still not arriving I sent a fax of the wire receipt. Registrar answered back that he received the fax,
the wire had not arrived yet, and that when it would have been received in their account the transfer funds would have been applied accordingly. The wire reached its destination after 40 days when the registrar emailed me back saying that the domain had been made available for registration and registered by other.Meanwhile I asked my bank to investigate the delay, to which it replied that the wire had been submitted to their US correpondence bank 5 days after the wire issue. Is there any chance of success to reclaim the domain by legal means since the delay was solely the banks fault?

Re: Reserved Internet domain name released by registrar and registerd by other d
Genrealy speaking you may sue the banks, but where is the damage, where lost income that you did nit receuve the domain. Why have you not follow up by the banks after thus unaceeplable delay? I do not think this case is worthwhile to proceed.
