Legal Question in Business Law in California

Hello! I would like to know what my rights are as a costumer. I bought a discount card to an ice cream store a year ago. I put 60 $ on the card so I could get 10% discount when I used the card to buy ice cream with. At the time it sounded like a good idea, but I ended up never going back to the store to use it. Finally I went back to the store a year later to get my money back and the store went out of business. What can I do. Can I do anything or should I just accept that I lost my money?? The card did not have any expiration date. Thank you, I appreciate your help.

Best regards, Maria

If the store or its owners are in bankruptcy, you could make a written claim. Otherwise, there's nothing much you could do other than file a small claims lawsuit, spend a lot of time, and probably not get anything in return.
