Legal Question in Business Law in California
Selfstorage lien sale
I have 3 storages that are being lien saled. Does the owner of the storage facility have the right to enter the units and take whatever they want from the units before the lien sale takes place? We caught the owners son loading up his pick up truck full of items from our units the day before the lien sale. What are our options...the notice said we had up until the time of sale to pay the full amount owed. If we were to pay before the sale, all of our property would not be still there. Please advise ASAP

Re: Selfstorage lien sale
You can't jump to conclusions about where the stuff was headed. Maybe it was being stolen, maybe just moved to a different place for a different sale. There is nothing in the law that says the lienholder has to leave it in "your" former unit between the time your rent becomes delinquent and the date of sale.
