If I solicit advertising from businesses to be placed on a publically viewed website, can I decline to accept advertising from corporations and/or franchises

Generally, one is not required to accept advertising from any person, corporation, or entity, if one chooses not to do so. Of course, if it's for discriminatory reasons, the rejection might be unlawful under Civil Code section 51, the Unruh Act.
