Legal Question in Business Law in California

I am starting a training business. I wanted to use the term "university" in the name of the business. Can I do that? Can I call the instructors a "professor" in advertising materials?

We always suggest to our clients that they avoid use of terms in their buisness that may create confusion as it may expose you to an unfair business practices claim from a disgruntled consumer. It sounds as though you are already concerned that this would be misleading. If you would like to discuss this and other aspects of starting a busienss, feel free to contact me.
