Re: State Appellate Districs
There are six appellate districts with a total of nine courthouses throughout the state. The First District court is located in San Francisco. The Second District is based in Los Angeles and has a branch in Ventura. The Third District is in Sacramento. The Fourth District has three divisions -- one each in San Diego, Santa Ana and Riverside. The Fifth District is in Fresno and the Sixth District is in San Jose.
Each of these courts has jurisdiction over specific counties, though I won't begin to list all of them here.
