Stature of limitations
I was in a auto accident in 2001 and recently i have just recieved a lawsuite notice form a law firm. this has been a little over a year since the accident.How long does a company have to take legal action after a incident?

For personal injury and bodily injury it was 1 year, it is now 2 years, from a law change. Additionally, if it is for subrogation, for example, an insurance company paid a settlement, they have 1 year from the time they paid, which might be years after the incident.
If you had insurance at the time, they will take care of it, if you did not, you will need help.
