You are probably out of luck. However, you can do some searches on the internet to determine if the company had an office locally. You can also determine if some other entity or person in Indiana owe this company money. If they do and you obtain a small claims judgement, you can garnish the amount owed. Additionally, if the company you sue does its banking with a bank that has a facility anywhere in Indiana, you can garnish the account.

If the company advertises in Indiana, it has sufficient "minimum contacts" for you to sue in Indiana. Once you obtain a judgment, you can hire a collection firm to domesticate the judgment in California and try to collect. You would have to shell out some money for doing so; however, if the judgment is collected, you might be able to get most of that back.
