Legal Question in Business Law in California

Termination

My friend and I are being fired for misconduct. Employers said it was impossible ofr us to dring 520 coffees over 10 months to have earned the coffe cards we had. That'a 260 per each of us over 10 months. How can they verify how many coffes we had outside of work. I'm 2 mos. from 2o years and 48 years old. How in hthe world would this ever stand up?

Re: Termination

Dear Sir:

I have reviewed your query to Law Guru regarding your termination. However, I would need more information respecting the dispute to help. Particularly, what do you mean by "coffee cards" - did you and your friend charge 520 coffees to your employer's account in a 10 month time frame? Are these cards something that you obtain by turning in receipts for coffee purchases? Can the coffees only be charged during working hours? Do you job duties require you to buy coffees for others - eg. for customers or potential customers of the company?

You say you have been there for almost 20 years - do retirement or other benefits become vested after 20 years?
