Legal Question in Business Law in California
I traded over $200.00 of computer equipment to a Computer Repairman I knew through a friend. I had 2 "witnesses" to this trade off. I was supposed to get numerous services in return. Thus far, the shop has lost 3 of my pieces of personal property ( things that were to be fixed, then returned immediately), and I have been unsuccessful at contacting the Shop owner by phone, mail, or e-mail. All I get is the run=around from his employees.
My question is: Can I take him to small claims court to retrieve the equivalent of what I was to get in return in cash so I can go elsewhere...or am I screwed?
Thank you for your time and consideration.

You can go to small claims court and ask for that amount of money damages, and take your witnesses with you. Several outcomes are possible, one of which is that the repairman will find your equipment and hand it over to you just before trial.
