Legal Question in Business Law in California

I understand it it against the law to video tape kids sports and sell DVDs of the game...but how is that different than hiring a wedding guy to film the wedding since the people at the wedding do not consent? Is it because they "hired" him to do a job as apposed to selling DVDs?

It sounds like you are looking at the difference between commercialization of a video vs. personal use. There are ways to have it done, legally, but you will need to get the school's consent as well as the childrens' parents consent in order to actually sell the DVD.
