Re: unlawful

The relationship between a temporary staffing agency and the people it will be trying to place is a matter of private contract. The duties and obligations of the agency will be spelled out in the black and white of the contract.

Temporary staffing agencies are licensed and regulated, but the scope of regulation is unlikely to modify or affect the relationship between the agency and the employee set forth in the contract signed by the agency and the employee.

Read your contract to see what it says about termination, then decide whether the contract has been breached by the agency's action, or if the action was permissible under the contract's terms.
