Re: Waiver of release of liabilities

It would be adviseable to have an attorney research the various types of waivers of liability you could present to participants or others who may potentially raise a claim against your organization. There are some categories of liability that an organization cannot waive, such as criminal conduct, or in some circumstances, negligence. This is a complicated issue, and there are many variables to consider, and a new waiver be prepared for each activity to give the most protection. A simple form could just have the participant acknowledge that risks of injury are present, and the participant knowingly and voluntarily accepts all risks, known and unknown, etc.

There are probably forms available on various legal

web sites (check FindLaw, LawInfo, LawGuru, FreeAdvice).

Also, check self-help legal texts, such as Nolo Press.

However, free legal advice is worth what you pay for it.

You should consult with an attorney and pay to have

an appropriate form drafted that your organization

can then use for many purposes.
