Legal Question in Business Law in California
Wal-mart refused to take a starter check for me and said they do not take them. there check policy does not say they dont take them. i went home call corporate and they said they do take them. i went back and 2 mangers later i just had the try and put the check though and it wored.

Sounds as though your first encounter was with an employee who didn't know their policy. It is always within a company's discretion to refuse to accept this check or that if they have suspicions about its authenticity or validity, and that could have been a factor.
