Legal Question in Business Law in California

i used to work for a company and signed a contract that stated it expires in 2007, i recently started my own company doing similar things in 2012 and i just left in 2012 from the company, but i never resigned contracts with them after the 07 year. can i still run my company?

Yes. Even if there was a covenant not to compete in your contract, it would not be enforceable.

Yes. In California, non-compete agreements are not enforceable, and a former employer can not prevent you from pursuing your livelihood in the same field.
