Legal Question in Business Law in California
I work at a design firm where all work that the designers create is the property of the company. I was wondering if ideas for new business ventures fall under this as well. I ask because my boss would like me to start coming up with new ideas for the company. However, I am on a very low paid trial period and fear having my ideas leached, stolen, or not getting paid fairly and adequately. What should I do to protect myself?

Have an attorney to review any documents or papers that you may have signed as a condition of your employment. You can then be advised as to your rights and your obligations.
Some employment contracts required before a person is hired may be treated as
"unconsciable" in the eyes of the law and therefore unenforceable.
