wrongful collection
a vendor sent an invoice that i am disputing the amount charged. he would not negotiate and insisted that i pay or it will be sent to collection. is there any legal recourse for me to fight it?

If it's reported on your credit report, dispute it with all 3 credit reporting companies -- Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax. Make sure to keep your supporting documents in case there is a lawsuit. Depending on the amount, if it's small, they might not bother to report it. So check your credit report in a few months.
