background check

In applying for employment, and prospective employers run--name removed--background check on you, what information do they have access to? Do they have access to all arrests or just convictions? And can they deny you employment?

In CA, only arrests which result in a conviction can be asked about BUT there are many exceptions, i.e., applicants for law enforcement, etc. Read Labor Code Section 432.7. The rest of your question is too general to answer.
