Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
I bought this car through a ebay listing number 280715902676 on August 3rd. The Listing mentioned a 2002 Honda Civic GX with VIN number 1HGEN26582L000563. I received the car through a shipping company on August 13th. Upon inspection of the car, I found that the car has been reconstructed. The entire rear half of the car along with the front door panels carry a different VIn number. The VIn number is JHMES96654S011374
I am pretty sure that the car was almost salvaged and rebuild using parts from a different car.
This was not mentioned anywhere in the listing that the car would carry two VIN numbers.
Having two VIN numbers on the car is not legal. I do not know if the parts are from a stolen car or somewhere else and I do not want any legal trouble with the law. I would like to return the car and get my money back.
I have already contacted the seller and send him eight pictures showing the different VIN numbers but he is playing hardball. he is claiming that he had no knowledge that there was a different VIN number on the car which is a complete lie, since it is clearly visible at numerous places all around the car.
What are my options?
