Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Me and my children have had our rights violated back in 2007 by the Depart. of Children Services and I would like to know if it is too late for me to file a suit against this department? The Department had placed my children in foster system while I was incarcerated on Forgery charges and when I was released they were trying to give my children up for adoption and was not giving me any chance on obtaining custody of my children. The social workers were retaliating against me since my first complaint against them from day one. It took me 2 1/2 years to get custody of my son and the Department helped the father of one of my children get full custody of my daughter by submitting a minute order saying that it would be dangerous for the children to be in my custody and didn't have a logical reason for them to be in foster care. I would like to know if it is past the statute of limitations to file a suit against the department for disassociating me with my children for so many years for no apparent reason.

I have successfully prosecuted civil rights cases against the DCS, but you have almost certainly blown the statute of limitations.
