Your taking a shower was legal! Whether the police officers' entry was legal depends on all of the facts. If they were in hot pursuit of someone who had just committed a crime, the exigent circumstances would have permitted their entry. Also, if they had a search or arrest warrant, they could have done so. If they felt like inspecting your house, though, without any of these legal protections (and unless under cover of Homeland Security), the answer is maybe "no." More facts are needed, however.
