Hi can i take someone to court for blaming me of steling something when i didnt do it and i have proof

You can sue for defamation but need to prove that you suffered actual damages; first yo will have to prove that you did not commit the crime and that the other person clearly accused you of doing so [not just saying "I think he may have stolen the item", as that is a personal opinion].
