Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Disbarment

Can an attorney be disbared for Civil Rights Violations? This is what he did.

When he was first starting to practice law in the Purblic Defenders Office he would go to a resteraunt in town with the dsitrict attorney and sit drinking coffee. I know the district attorney and the pblic defender has to meet to discuss a plea bargain but if I uderstand my law right, it should be in one of their offices andnow in arest- eraunt. Am I right?

Sincerly,

Re: Disbarment

A public defender and district attorney meeting in a restaurant does not violate any ethical standard or constitute a civil rights violation. It would have to be shown, rather than assumed, that they were meeting for an illegal purpose. These facts fall short of establishing such a purpose.
