Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Domestic Violence
I live in a rural area in the Sierras. I was beaten by my husband, taken to the hospital by paramedics, treated...was told there was going to be an auto. order of protection because he had recently filed and was given a con.weaponspermit. My file went ''missing'' he went rabid... I finally hired a priv. attorney..$30,000. for a DVRO that is NOT working.. District Att. Advocate say's ''you're not a victim...''but yet, the judge order the max. 3 yrs of protection. He has violated this DVRO numerous times: court ''commisioner'' granted him permission to contact me for ''family court issues to be resolved'' he's run wild with that... even tried having me 51/50'd... isn't that a bit of a harassment? NOTHING has happened. Now, he's in contempt: never has or quote'' oh... f-ck that!'' re.the anger management classes. Even was verbally abusive to my advocate from the shelter. The DA ''advocate'' will not meet w/me even though MY amazing advocate from shelter has BEGGED this dept to help: transitional housing? nope Pursuing the violations: nope. Promising to issue a $2,000. ''victims assistance'' fund: nope. He even broke into my Jeep / stole my dog: dog is also on DVRO!!! Any help? no. I'm ready to throw in the towel, literally..

Re: Domestic Violence
Call the police and report that the order is being violated. They should do something about it...that is arrest him...wow, 30k for a DVRO and you got nothing out of it...doesn't speak well of my profession. The order should have been automatically made if your husband pled guilty to a DV offense.
Best of luck!
