Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Falsely locked up.
I was taken into custody while riding my biycycle on the sidewalk, a small bundle of white powder was found in my possession(a over-the-counter aspirin-BC powder).I was incarerated for 7-days,even though I explained to the arresting deputies what the powder was! It was never tested in the field or at the station. So I spent 7-days in lock-up,for aspirin. Now I have a police record, and while in jail;I was not given my blood-pressure medicine,so I had frequent headaches, and heart palpulations while in jail. Is there anyway I can clear my record, and sue the sheriffis dept, for the arrest, and my denial of my freedom for 7-days.

Yes, you might well have a case for violation of your civil rights. Make sure you consult a lawyer in person very, very quickly as time limits in such cases are very short (usually 6 months). I would be interested. See a doctor right away as regards your symptoms, this will be helpful as evidence of your damages! What finally happened to the podery substance?
