Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Can i get fired for going back to school,my boss said that since i decided to go to school he no longer can rely on me to work for him so i wanted to know what can i do in this situation because if i loose my job i will have no income ,would i be able to get cash/food assistance for my son and i in this case ?

Yes. If your boss feels he can no longer rely on you, then he has the right to terminate your employment. You may need to rely on unemployment in this situation. I realize that is not the answer you wanted to hear, but your boss has that right.
