Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

My girlfriend and I were filmed inside my house from a news crew that was outside the property on the sidewalk. The shot is zoomed in and clearly shows our faces, and associates us with a very controversial allegation of sexual assault at my fraternity. I feel as though it is an invasion of privacy and wanted to see if there is legal action I could take. here is a link to the news video (http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/279598702.html) These allegations themselves are untrue and based off of third party hear-say; nobody knows anything about what actually happened and that's where we're at right now...

If the news report left the viewer with the impression that, because of the video, you and your girlfriend were linked with sexual assault at your fraternity, then this might constitute defamation if untrue. It seems that this would be a better claim than invasion of privacy since you might have been visible through the window from the street.
