Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
hit dog with car accidently
the dog ran out into the street in front of me leaving no time to stop just to slam on brakes. I hit the dog he ran home, i followed him and spoke with the owner and exchanged numbers. now the owner is asking for the vet money. Do I owe this or is it the dog owner's responsibility?

Not if it was not your fault; not if you were not negligent. You can turn the claim over to your insurance company.
