can hotel staff enter an occupied room and take photos inside of room while oocupied by guest?

Like in old movies where private eyes break in and photograph two lovers in bed having an extramarital affair?
I would think it pretty odd, at best, for employees of a hotel to enter an occupied room and take photographs of the interior. Probably civilly actionable as well, unless there is something you're not telling me. You could take them to small claims court for $7500.
Certainly it's worth at least 50,000 frequent flyer points.
