Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Do lawyers help me create a story in court?

I don't know what to say in court. I don't really remember what happened when I got into a fight with someone, who's suing me for medical damages. Everyone was drunk. I don't even think I did it. Would a lawyer help me before I go to court and tell me all the possibilities of the story I could say, (without having to step in court and lie themselves) or is it too much to ask a lawyer to help me create a believable story outside of court?

no.

A reputable lawyer will not help you make up a story.

On the other hand, a good lawyer can help you piece together the pieces you do recall, and there are ways to help with memory or otherwise creating a story (not you making it up but with other's testmony and facts) that can convince a jury.
