Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
To legally change my name, it costs $397!
My household income is too high to take advantage of the fee waiver. But my personal income is not enough to pay the costs! Why is the income not based on one's personal income?

I am not sure of your specific situation, but if one spouse is a stay-at-home mom/dad it certainly wouldn't be right to allow for that individual to be granted the waiver if the other spouse is making $150,000 a year and can easily afford the fee.
