If I, a licensed to drive California resident, refuse to submit to a DUI checkpoint field sobriety test what sort of consequences might I face?

Oh, so now you -do- have a California driver license. Which is it? Don't drink and drive and chances are you won't have to get out of your car if you encounter a checkpoint. If the cops think you are sufficiently tipsy that they want you to submit to a field sobriety test, and you refuse, you'll be told to blow in the Intoxilyzer and you won't have a right to refuse. If you do, your license will be suspended and you'll probably face the same DUI charges as if you had blown into the machine and flunked.
