Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Is it possible to get my money back?
I had a jointed account with my ex-gf in the past 3 years, 2yrs ago, she moved back to China. We still keep the jointed account because I believe we will get marry in the future. During the past two years, I'm the only person deposit to the account and she continously withdrawl money from the account because she told me that she wanted to pay off her debts in China before she can get marry. Now we broke up, I want to ask if it's possible for me to get back the money that she withdrawl from the account in the past two years?

The simple answer is, it will be a problem collecting if she's in China. You can file a small claims lawsuit and present your case. If you win, you would have to hire an attorney in China to have the judgment domesticated, served, and undertake collection efforts. That sounds like a big task. By the way, if you haven't done so already, close the account.
