how would i go about filing a motion to squash (hopefully that is what it is called).

Depends on what it is you want squashed (the correct legal term is, "quashed").

Typically, a motion to quash -- if you're a party -- is used if you're not properly served. It can also be used if you were served with a subpoena that seeks information invading privacy or not related to the litigation. So, Mr. Stone is correct. More information is necessary.
