Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

A police officer audio taped my traffic stop

Long story short, I was given a traffic ticket, the officer's conduct was reprehensible. I filed a complaint, the officer and I sat down for mediation. In the middle of mediation, it comes out he made an audio tape of my traffic stop. When I asked to listen, I was refused. Is it legal for him to tape with without my knowledge? The Sgt confirmed my behavior was fine on the tape. I'm fighting the ticket and believe he made statements that may help my case. Is there a California law pertaining to this? thanks Mark

Read "Fight Your Ticket" and learn how to get the tape through a discovery request (if it's not already too late).
