Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
The police came looking for my son for a warrant. He has two vehicles parked in front of my house. They were ticketing on of his vehicles accross the street and about two houses down. I got into the other vehicle which was parked in front of my house and pulled it into my driveway because I knew the registration was expired. They towed the vehicle out of my driveway. Can they do that? At the time they had not been anywhere near the vehicle nor gave any indication they were going to. They were only interested in the first vehicle because they knew he had been driving it. This was all for a failure to appear from two days prior. They came like gangbusters into my house. I told them my son was turning himself in which he did that day. Now I cannot get the vehicle out because it is not in my name and has parking tickets I cannot afford to pay.
