Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

I am a renter

The landlord is defaulting in their home, but claims that they are still trying to find a way to refiniance to keep the home. My question is do I still have to pay them rent if the house is going into foreclosure? I feel that they are still trying to collect rent while they are defualting with the bank and pocketing our money instead of making their mortgage payments.

Re: I am a renter

As long as the landlord remains the owner, he/she is entitled to the rent. Keep copies of your rent checks, though. If the property is foreclosed, immediately contact the bank and make arrangements to continue renting, if they're willing.
