Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Can a ruling on a restraining order be appealed? The mother of the unborn child of my friend filed a restraining order on my friend stating domestic violence. The judge ruled in favor of the mother and the restraining order is in effect. My friend is very interested in appealing this decision as the restraining order will keep my friend from being present for the birth of his son in December. I have known my friend for 13 years and know he is not capable of violence and is the victim of a young, angry, vengeful pregnant girl who wants to punish my friend for not wanting to do everything her way. Is there anything he can do to appeal the judge's decision?
