Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Serving someone?

If I just moved out of my house on bad terms with my family and I get served, what happens? Do they have to directly hand it to me? Can they mail it even if i don't live there anymore but the person thinks I do? All my mail is to my new address already, but not even my family knows where it is or how to contact me.

Would my family get in trouble for not giving it to me? We don't get along, but I don't want them to get involved either.

Re: Serving someone?

It depends. If your family's address is your address for any purpose, then they could serve you at your family address. However, if you completely & legally changed your address, on EVERYTHING, then, no, they probably cannot.
