Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Sexual Battery
Hello on 12/26/2006 at7:00am I was on my way to work when all of a sudden I was sexually assaulted by a man that I have never seen before in my life. when I called 911 at around 7:05am.The dispatcer was very rude and neglegent and he told me that he was not going to send the police to help me I was calling from a payphone so I know that the conversation was being recordedand and when I asked him what was I supposed to do because the man was still following me he said he does not know.I feel that my civil rights have been violated because of the way I was treated and I was not able to get a police report until around 7:30pm and after I had to call the police for a second time and explain to them my situation I have a copy of my incident report and I am waiting to get a copy of my report so that I can take further action. Should I take action against the police department? Do I have case?

Re: Sexual Battery
You could make a complaint to officials within the police department for review. Make sure you are specific about the time and date, and describe as much of your conversation as you can remember in light of the assault.
