State/Fed conflict

In a state where a law is in effect to protect a citizen from criminal prosecution, is it legal for the prosecution to turn the case over to the feds. Medical Marijuana

Unfortunately, the medical marijuana issue remains one of those bizarre matters where the state permits its use and the Feds -- for whatever paternalistic reason -- do not. At this point, it seems that the Feds are winning this one, until Congress summons the understanding and compassion to change course on this issue.
