Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
What is the statute of limitations on bringing forth a civil rights case pertaining to false arrest (against a city, who governs their police), and unwarranted/illegal removal of children from custody/home (against a county, who governs CPS)? I've been told 6 mos., a year, and two years. Which is correct?

It depends, one year for false arrest, maybe 2 years for the other charges, and there may be notices that have to be filed sooner if the government is a defendant. No easy answer, sorry.
