Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

summons on credit card

I recieved a summons for a credit card that was sold to 3rd party. I had insurance to cover my payments

in case of loss of job, the insurance policy was sold and neither company would take responsiblity for it, i continued to make small payments for a period of time, then stopped when could no longer pay, do i have any grounds to stand on in fighting this? Or can i make a settlement ofter after i have been served summons? I have not answered the summons yet, not sure if calf. has a general box i can just check on answering , or if this is best way to proceed. I refinanced and can make a offer, but so far this company has not offered me a honest settle amount.

Re: summons on credit card

Although California does provide for a general denial when answering the complaint, you may not have that option if the complaint was verified. You do have some options here, including pursuing the insurance company.

I would be willing to discuss some of the issues concerning your case to see how I may be of assistance.

I offer prospective clients an initial consultation of 30 minutes for free.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Yours truly,
