Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California
Hello - one week ago, my cat was stolen from my house by a woman, right before my eyes. After doing a little detective work of my own, I found the cat had been sold, by this woman, to a new owner. I have tried to appeal to this owner for our cat back, but he refuses. This new owner has paperwork to support his claim to ownership. Do I have any recourse? Thanks!

A crime has been committed which you should report to your local police department. One can't legally buy a stolen property and claim legal ownership. The person who has your cat must return the pet to you.
