Legal Question in Technology Law in California

My ex boyfriend is in the army and now stationed in another state, after we broke up, he threatened me that he would send out my videos and photos to everyone we know and post them online as well. He did last night and it went all over, even youtube, but I was able to get them taken off because it wasn't supposed to be there. And since last night he has been giving my number out to everyone, people online, which I did not know. He told them all to call me and text me. He called me over 10 times, but once with his number and the rest with blocked numbers. What can I do about this? Is this harassment? And since he's in another state what can I do about it? Would I still be able to press charges against him if he continues this?

Situations like this are why restraining orders were invented. Unfortunately, you would probably need to get one from a court in the state where your ex is stationed.

You can also sue your ex for invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and perhaps other causes of action. Suing him will cost money, though, and spending a lot of money might not be sensible if he can't afford to pay a substantial judgment. Then again, a lawsuit like this could be brought in California and you might be able to get an injunction against him as part of the case. That he is on active duty may be an obstacle, though; courts treat active service personnel a bit differently from other litigants, and I'm not sure how those differences would impact your case.

Another option is to contact your ex's superiors and tell them what he has done. They may discipline him for it, especially if he was on duty and/or used Army equipment when he did this things.
