Legal Question in Technology Law in California

We have a cabin that we rent out as a vacation rental. I installed security cameras on the exterior of the cabin that are connected to a digital video recorder. Two cameras have visibility of the driveway and parking area, one views the front porch and one views the back deck. All of the areas that are under video surveillance are clearly visible from the street or a neighbor's property. We have a disclosure statement in the rental agreement that there are security cameras on the exterior of the property. Are there any potential legal issues with having these cameras?

Suits are filed and therefore must be defended over so many imagined and dumb alleged injuries that it is very unwise for a lawyer to say doing, or not doing, a particular action is safe from possible suit. If you took the cameras down and a renter was harmed by a prowler, you might be sued for not having the cameras, or for having them and then removing them. About all I can say is that if someone came to me asn asked me to sue you over the cameras, I'd tell them I didn't want the case because they had little chance of prevailing.
