can a company send a mass email to several of its potential customers exposing my personal email to multiple people I dont know?

Maybe and maybe not. With the limited facts given in your description of what happened, the description could cover perfectly harmless sharing that the company could reasonably have considered intended when the obtained your personal e-mail (much as what happens when LawGuru distributes questions to its participating attorneys, who are of course answering these questions in the hope of locating new clients). On the other hand, your description also covers information-sharing that could easily fall under the heading of negligent disclosure of sensitive personal information. or worse.
