Is it illegal to post "miss reed is a bitch" as a facebook status? If so, what does it violate?

When I was a kid, calling someone a bitch would have been slander, unless the someone were a prostitute. We are in different times, and I doubt there could be a winnable suit for slander based on this. However, see Civil Code section 46, particularly subpart 4.

I assume Miss Reed is your teacher, and the school might well be able to impose some kind of discipline that you won't like.
